On 10 September, russia carried out another terrorist strike on Pavlohrad in Dnipro region. In the middle of the day, the enemy attacked the city centre – the area around a shopping and entertainment centre where many people were present – with attack drones. The strike set a shop, retail pavilions and cars on fire, and part of a street in the city centre was virtually destroyed.
Among those affected by the strike were employees of DTEK Energy’s coal enterprises. Two of our colleagues were killed and four more were injured.
Vitalii Huba, 39, worked as a longwall face miner at a production section. He is survived by his parents and wife.
Yevhen Shevchenko, 43, worked as a mining machine operator at a development section. He is survived by his parents, wife, son and little daughter.
The four injured employees were promptly given assistance and taken to hospital. As of 11 September, they are receiving outpatient treatment. All the injured are currently in a stable condition. The company is covering the costs of their treatment and rehabilitation, stays in touch with the medics and families, and is doing everything necessary for the speediest recovery of our colleagues.
The DTEK Energy team extends its sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of Vitalii Huba and Yevhen Shevchenko. We will provide the families with comprehensive support. This is a heavy loss for their families, colleagues and our entire team.
In total, according to preliminary official data, five people were killed and 67 more were injured in this attack on Pavlohrad, including children and rescuers.
