A modern rehabilitation device worth more than UAH 300 thousand has been handed over to Dobrotvir City Hospital. The equipment will help veterans and community residents recover after injuries and surgery.
The initiative was a follow-up to the “Games of the Brave”, a multi-sport competition held by DTEK Energy on 12–13 August in Dobrotvir, Lviv region. Eighteen teams competed in 16 disciplines: DTEK Energy’s power engineers, repair workers, miners and machine builders, as well as a team from the local community.
During the “Games of the Brave”, the Energiia UA Charitable Foundation collected charitable donations for a project to provide veterans of Dobrotvir community with rehabilitation equipment. Forty-one people – participants and guests of the competition – joined the fundraiser, enabling the foundation to collect UAH 38,411 in charitable donations from individuals.
DTEK Energy topped up the funds raised with more than UAH 250 thousand of its own. With this money, the Energiia UA Charitable Foundation purchased an ARTROMOT®-K1 Comfort device for continuous passive motion of the knee and hip joints, worth more than UAH 300 thousand in total, and handed it over to Dobrotvir City Hospital, where it will be used for the rehabilitation of veterans and other patients in need of restorative treatment.
“When we launched the ‘Games of the Brave’, we wanted them to be not only a sports competition, but also an opportunity to do something useful for the community. Today we can see the result of this joint effort. Thanks to people’s generosity, the funds raised have become part of real help – equipment that will work to help veterans and other community residents recover,” noted Yevhen Novakov, Director of Dobrotvirska TPP.
The “Games of the Brave” brought people together not only around sport, but also around a common cause. Now this support has turned into concrete help that will work every day where it is needed most.
