Nearly 200,000 tons of coal are planned to be extracted from the new longwall by the miners of site 5 of Bilozerske Mine Group. Coal extracted from the working face at Pioner Mine will become a significant support for the domestic power industry.

The length of the 4th northern longwall is 300 m, the length of the excavation field is 290 m, and the extraction height is 1.45 m.

- This is the first new longwall in the mine group in 2020. We mounted the working using our own resources,” Oleksandr Marshuk, foreman of breakage face miners at site 5, says. “Now our primary task is to reach an average daily load of more than 1.5 thousand tons. After all, the team understands that the commissioning of a new longwall is a guarantee of stable operation of the coal enterprise and the well-being of our region.”

DTEK’s investments in longwall equipment amounted to almost UAH 20 million. These funds were used to overhaul 200 sections of the 1KDD mechanized complex, the UKD 200/400 combine, and the SP-251 scraper conveyor.

Today, the Mine Group produces almost 8,000 tons of coal from 4 longwalls every day. In 2020, the team plans to put into operation a new longwall at Bilozerska Mine, work through almost 5 km of underground mine workings, and extract more than 2 million tons of coal at the Mine Group for thermal generation in Ukraine.
