Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Company's coal mining enterprises have supplied 3,000 tonnes of coal and 4,500 cubic metres of firewood to heat Ukrainian defenders. In addition to heating with firewood, the wood is also used to cover dugouts against mine debris and drone attacks. This further protects the lives of the defenders.

‘We are focusing all our efforts on restoring our facilities after the shelling and retaining the energy front. But we need to find resources to help our defenders. Any kind of help is crucial for Ukraine's victory,' said DTEK Energy CEO Oleksandr Fomenko.

Last year, DTEK Energy helped Ukrainian defenders to build and equip defensive fortifications in the Donetsk region. This included providing timber and other materials, as well as paying for the services of special machinery for the construction of fortifications. This assistance helped to build about 100 fortifications, and the total length of the defences reached about 26 km.
