In October 2019, another benefit was added to the social benefits package for DTEK Dobropolyeugol employees – voluntary medical insurance. To date, 655 employees and their families have used the service. Insurance payments amounted to UAH 1,093,000.
The main advantage of voluntary health insurance is the employee’s ability to reduce the cost of medical services. DTEK undertakes the payment. The sum insured per person is from UAH 60,000 per year and includes:
- outpatient, inpatient and emergency care;
medication;
diagnostic examinations;
treatment of the consequences of injuries or accidents.
In addition, the insurance includes a corporate first aid kit at the enterprise, treatment of chronic diseases in the acute stage, and treatment of newly diagnosed serious diseases. Also, employees were able to arrange insurance for first of kin family members at preferential corporate rates.
“Of course, investment, modern technologies, and many other things are important for any enterprise. But all this will not work if employees don’t feel well,” Yurii Cherednychenko, General Director of DTEK Dobropolyeugol, said. “Therefore, it is important for us to provide our people with the possibility, if necessary, to receive high-quality medical services and to feel protected in this matter.”
