Statements that the employment termination was illegal are false. We always operate within the legislative framework of Ukraine, we observe the dismissal procedure established by the current labour legislation in all cases. All payments envisaged by the collective agreement and the Labour Code are made fully upon dismissal.
DTEK enterprises are one of the few that continue to operate steadily and provide jobs to thousands of Ukrainians amidst the economic crisis in the country. Western Donbass Miners are among the most highly paid miners in Ukraine with average wages 50% higher than the industry average and almost twice as high as the average in Dnipropetrovsk Region.
We ensure that our work is efficient through, above all, zero tolerance to violations of occupational health and safety rules. Thanks to the observance of the occupational health and safety rules, we have managed to reduce the number of injuries at Pavlogradugol enterprises by 9% in 10 months of 2017 and to increase the amount of coal mined to all time high 20 million tonnes by the end of the year.
We do not need coal at any cost, so the life and health of our employees is our top priority.
Workplace discipline at a mine affects the safety of the entire underground crew as well as the life of each individual employee. If someone systematically violates his duties and acts in a way that endangers the lives of other employees, we apply the strictest disciplinary actions.
One of the rally participants was dismissed for systematic disregard of his duties (four cases of violation of work discipline), and another participant did not perform the gas test during mine openings inspection, which is not only a violation of the job description but also a threat to people’s lives.
We will always be on the side of our miners who selflessly mine the coal needed in the country rather than offenders who endanger the lives of others.
We are always open to a civil dialogue and we do not accept blackmail in any form.
We are relentlessly committed to resolving any issues legally, and we are ready to pursue a reasonable dialogue through relevant authorities.
