Power engineers of DTEK Kurakhivska TPP have started preparing the city heating network for a heating season in advance. Now they are replacing sections of the old pipework with modern and more energy-efficient pipes. They do everything to prevent heat losses during the winter and deliver heat to houses of local residents.
The conform of over eights thousand customers residing in Kurakhove during the cold season depends on the team work of the power engineers of DTEK Kurakhivska TPP. This is why we started the preparations back in the summer.
“Starting from June, we have already replaced over 30 meters of faulty pipework that required emergency repairs. We installed over four dozens of new shut-off valves to improve the network reliability. Now we are finishing the scheduled replacement of 600 meters of the heating network that delivers heat to the houses located on Energetykiv Street. I would like to underline that the service life of the new pipes is 50 years and they are energy-saving,” explained Dmytro Harahashko, head of the service of the heating water supply networks at DTEK Kurakhivska TPP.
From 15 to 27 September, the power engineers will perform hydraulic tests to discover possible leaks that were not fixed during the repairs. All defects will be repaired by the beginning of the heating season.
“DTEK is a reliable and responsible partner of the state and community. This is why DTEK Kurakhivska TPP is responsible towards its customers. We are ready to start supplying heat to the network once the city council passes a relevant resolution,” underlined Stanislav Valantir, director of DTEK Kurakhivska TPP.
Moreover, specialists from Interenergoservice perform major repairs to power unit 5 of DTEK Kurakhivska TPP. The power unit will be connected to the energy system at the beginning of the heating season.
