DTEK Energy miners have reported on the results of their work over the past year. The company’s coal mining enterprises produced 22,400,000 tons of coal. That fuel replenished warehouses of the company’s thermal power plants and ensured the stable operation of the Ukrainian energy system.
Heading towards energy independence: DTEK Energy miners produced over 22 million tons of coal in 2019
Over the 12 months of last year, coal production at DTEK Pavlogradugol amounted to 18,200,000 tons of coal, and at DTEK Dobropolyeugol – to 4,200,000 tons of coal. The companies put into operation 36 new longwalls to ensure coal production at the mines.
“Ukrainian coal and electricity is a guarantee of the energy independence of our country,” Dmytro Sakharuk, General Director of DTEK Energy, said. “The more we use our own fuel, the less we depend on foreign resources. And this directly affects the reliability of the power system and the uninterrupted supply of electricity to consumers. High production rates are the result of work of our miners and the company’s investment. During 12 months of last year, we invested UAH 38 billion in coal mining enterprises.”
