DTEK Pavlogradske Mine Group Starts Producing Coal from a New Longwall

DTEK Pavlogradske Mine Group starts processing new longwall 325 — the fourth longwall since the beginning of the year. DTEK has invested almost UAH 31 million in the equipment for this longwall. The Pavlohrad miners expect to produce over 350 thousand tonnes of coal from this working face, which will give them an opportunity to work without any downtime until the start of the autumn and winter season and supply fuel to Ukrainian thermal power plants without any interruptions.

Longwall 325 is located at the level of 260 m, has a length of 272 m, and the seam thickness is 1.05 m. The new longwall will be processed by coal production team No. 1 under the supervision of Mykhailo Kuts. By using UKD-200/500 coal cutter, the miners expect to produce at least two thousand tonnes of coal per day from the new longwall. The miners have been operating this coal cutter for five years and have brought to grass over 2 million tonnes of thermal coal from four coalfaces.

"We have prepared and commissioned a new coalface as scheduled thanks to the highly professional job done by the entire team of the Pavlogradske Mine Group. From now on, we expect to work without any accidents and interruptions. We have everything we need: modern equipment, materials, spares, and personal protective equipment. The company provides us with all these things. After all, DTEK ENERGY continues to make a substantial contribution to Ukraine’s energy independence. And our task is to supply Ukraine with fuel. We produce coal to supply every house in Ukraine with electricity. We work hard, so our families can be confident about the future, and the entire West Donbas can develop and prosper for many years to come", said Artem Velma, Supervisor of Coal Production Team No. 1 of DTEK Pavlogradske Mine Group.

Since January, the Pavlogradske Mine Group has already put into operation four new longwalls and produced over 1.2 million of tonnes of coal. The company expects to commission another four coalfaces and produce some 2.5 million tonnes of Ukrainian fuel by the end of 2021.
