The third coal face since the year beginning: miners of Pavlograd Mine Group have a job and get their salaries

The new 427th coal face has started coal production at Pavlodrad Mine Group. DTEK has invested over UAH 96 mln into equipping of the coal face. The stocks of 700 thousand tons of coal, which are concentrated in the new coal face, shall allow the miners to work without interruption until the end of the year and to stably provide fuel to Ukrainian thermal power plants.

The 427th coal face that is 115 meters deep has been introduced instead of the decommissioned 214th coal face. The new coal face fully complies with all industrial safety requirements. The coal face is 230 meters long, extraction pillar length is 1746 m, extraction height is 1.05 meters. The miners plan to extract at least 2,000 tons of coal per day from this coal face. The miners of No. 3 coal mining site, led by Denis Kyrychenko, shall work the new coal face out.

“We prepared a new coal face and put it into operation on time due to professionalism of the entire staff of Pavlograd Mine Group. Due to DTEK Energy’s investments, we purchased the new-type CLS550P-01 cleaning combine from the Kharkiv machine builders of Corum Miner’s Light plant, the “СПЦ”271“М”-04.20 down-hole scraper conveyor and other components. Our team is set to work without accidents and to produce the planned tons of coal from the coal face on time. This is the only way how we provide our families with confidence in the future and ensure Ukraine’s energy independence from imported resources,” said Vladyslav Zaichenko, Deputy Head of No. 3 coal mining site of Pavlograd Mine Group.

Since the year beginning, more than 650,000 tons of coal have produced at Pavlograd Mine Group and three new coal faces have been put into operation. The team plans to put into operation 5 more cleaning pits by the end of the year and to produce at least 3.5 mln tons of fuel.
