Doctors of Ivano-Frankivsk district hospitals received 2 more modern ventilators from DTEK and Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. This time, Kalush and Horodenka central district hospitals received the devices. Modern equipment will help doctors save the lives of patients with coronavirus and will also become an indispensable assistant in intensive care units after the end of the pandemic.
The ventilators purchased by DTEK and Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for Ukrainian doctors are high-class resuscitation equipment. Most importantly, they are easy to use and virtually eliminate the human factor.
“Ventilators are still the necessary equipment in Ukrainian hospitals. Today, the intensive care unit of Horodenka hospital is filled by 90 % to 100 % daily. But until now, we have had only one modern ventilator. With the aid from DTEK and Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, now we have the second ventilator. This will help our doctors save more human lives,” Oleksandra Kosovets, director of Horodenka central district hospital, said.
This is not the first aid from DTEK and Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for hospitals in Ivano-Frankivsk region.
“There is one DTEK enterprise operating in our region. But not only hospitals located near Burshtyn TPP received aid from the company because of DTEK being socially responsible business. In this difficult time for the country and our region, in particular, the company and Rinat Akhmetov Foundation provided significant aid to most hospitals of Ivano-Frankivsk region. We are very grateful for such support,” Volodymyr Lavasov, Head of Horodenka District State Administration, emphasized.
The Fight COVID-19 in Ukraine project became a part of the Rinat Akhmetov – Saving Lives Foundation’s program. The foundation has accomplished something almost impossible. Ventilators have been sought all over the world. Doctors admit that it is almost impossible to buy high-quality ventilators, as they are needed in every country in the world. 200 ventilators are already being delivered to Ukraine and are being prepared for donating to state hospitals in the regions of the country.
“Since April, we have donated nearly 14,000 express tests to diagnose the virus, 12,000 protective suits for the needs of the region, and in June, the region received the first 14 ventilators. Now another batch has arrived: 2 modern ventilators which we are donating to Kalush and Horodenka central district hospitals. This is medical equipment from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for the Carpathian region. DTEK signed a memorandum of support for the region back in December last year, and today, this support is needed more than ever. We donate ventilators to both regional and district hospitals. All of them have quite different material and technical support. And we believe that these devices will help medical workers save many lives after the end of the pandemic,” Oleksander Voronkin, a DTEK representative, commented.
Today, the fight against coronavirus infection requires the joining of all efforts: targeted aid is not able to contain the spread of COVID-19. Rinat Akhmetov pooled all the resources of the Foundation and his business, in particular DTEK, and channeled UAH 300 million as part of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation’s Rinat Akhmetov – Saving Lives program to provide the regions with the means necessary to fight coronavirus. These funds are aimed at addressing the country’s critical health needs which have been identified in coordination with the Ministry of Health.
