Power engineers of DTEK Ladyzhynska TPP have already replaced 200 running meters of the pipe that transports ash and slag from the thermal power plant to ash dumps. This is done to prevent possible environmental risks that may arise from bursts and leakage of pulp (ash and slag diluted with water for transportation through the pipe) on the ground under the ash and slag pipeline.
The repair will continue. In general, it is planned to replace more than 500 running meters of the pipe. Timely preventive measures at ash and slag pipelines will help power engineers reduce the number of accidents and repair costs, prevent land pollution and environmental damage, and improve the TPP’s reliability in general.
“Now Ladyzhyn power engineers are repairing emergency sections of the ash and slag pipeline. This is our contribution, both to reducing the damage effect on the region’s environment and to the energy independence of the country in general. After all, in case of a burst, we will be forced to stop the production, but we cannot allow this because we must ensure stable supply of Ukrainians with light and heat,” Ihor Sniehin, director of DTEK Ladyzhynska TPP, commented. “Therefore, we are now taking measures to prevent such risks.”
DTEK Energy is a responsible and reliable company that not only contributes to the country’s energy independence but also cares about reducing the negative impact of industrial enterprises on the environment. To this end, the company’s enterprises systematically take a number of preventive measures. Among them is the repair of the ash and slag pipeline of Ladyzhynska TPP.
