In total, about 30 large Ukrainian companies, such as Coca-Cola, Nestle, Nova Poshta, 1 + 1, Energoatom, participated in the competition. The international expert jury evaluated the projects.
"I was impressed with the content, variety and quality of the proposed projects. Cases meet real problems; effectively planned and implemented. Companies show that business can, under any circumstances, be a force for positive change, "said Marina Stefanova, a member of the jury, a representative of the UN Global Compact (Bulgaria).
"This is a really great project. Together with the 12 students of the 8th grade, we studied the course "Basics of energy supply and energy conservation". It was very interesting, because 2/3 of the course's information on how to improve your home budget. Here are the steps of history, and how to explain to parents what can be saved, - explains the project curator, teacher of biology of secondary school № 4 Vitaliy Gulevatyy. - It was a pleasure that every student had his page on the site, where they received individual tasks and useful information. For example, for many, the discovery was that the radiators in the apartment can not be closed curtains. Therefore, practically all students in their apartments raised the curtains above. In general, participation in the project allowed us to review our costs for electricity and heating. And today we clearly understand that we can really influence them. In particular, in the near future I would like to replace all the lighting fixtures in the school with Led fixtures and insulate one of the walls of the building. "
"Why is our project important and timely? First, energy market reforms and other reforms in the country are a major tool for regulating energy consumption, utilizing energy intelligently at the level of each individual family and at the level of the entire country. Today, the issue of economy is just as relevant for our people as for Europeans, Americans, Israelis, whose smart prudence has long been part of a common culture, "commented Victoria Grib, head of the department for social development of DTEK. - Secondly, the education of a fundamentally new, responsible attitude not only to our own finances, but also to consumption in general, to the maintenance of the economy in principle - this is a very important task for our entire country. Positive aspects of its implementation: this attitude is profitable, it is environmentally friendly, it forms an adult and responsible view of the world. We tried to make it so that it was not boring. In spite of the school's educational format, we have gained coverage not only for the children but also for the adult audience. And this tells us that we are on the right path! "
For reference. Educational project "Energy-Efficient Schools" is being conducted in 2012 in 23 regions of Ukraine. It consists of two courses "Fundamentals of energy supply and energy consumption" certified by the Ministry of Education of Ukraine and a number of competitions for social activity. Last year, an online platform for the project was created, where any school in Ukraine can go through an interactive training course. Today about 900 schools have been remotely connected to the project. And this year, three interregional classes were added to the project, which brought together schoolchildren from the western Burshtyn and central Zelenodolsk.
According to the results of the study, the students prepared 168 project proposals for the implementation of energy-efficient technologies, implementation of which contributed to reducing the consumption of heat energy in educational institutions.
Schools and schools have taken measures to reduce electricity consumption, which saved 482 thousand kWh, which is 1 million UAH.
