The Do-It-Yourself Community is a competition for grants from DTEK that are used to finance the beautification and development of our towns and villages. This year is the eighth year that the competition has been held on the territories where DTEK ENERGY’s business is present.
What is new about the Do-It-Yourself Community 2021?
- The project has expanded its geography and now involves 32 communities from 11 regions of Ukraine.
- This year’s project is focused on a barrier-free environment and inclusion. Projects in these areas account for about 50% of 662 submitted bids.
DTEK ENERGY, as a responsible and reliable company interested in the sustainable development of local communities, strives to bring people together and help them improve their towns and villages. This year, over 8,000 Ukrainians have joined citizen action groups and participated in the development of ideas that were submitted as bids during the competition.
Activists from Shchastia presented 22 projects aimed at improving their community. The projects include the creation of an inclusive space for children with special educational needs, the construction of sports grounds, urban greening and eco-hubs, the arrangement of a free environment for the youth, and awareness projects.
Ideas of a new playground, gym, street navigation, better street lighting, and lounge zones for schoolchildren can become a reality in Petropavlivka and Triokhizbenka this year.
The same as before, the bids will be assessed by regional juries and local residents who can vote online.
