Today, at 7.25 pm, DTEK Zaporizhzhya TPP was completely disconnected from the energy system due to a short circuit at Luch sub-station of Zaporizhzhyaoblenergo.
Because of a short circuit at the sub-station, the protection on the units of Zaporizhzhya TPP was activated, which did not allow a major accident. At the time of the event, 3 power units with a total capacity of 750 MW were involved into the work. Power engineers plan to begin start-up operations at the TPP units within a few hours.
The station shut-down led to a short-term power outage in Energodar, but at the moment the city’s energy supply has been restored.
DTEK is using the entire scope of its equipment in order to balance the operation of Ukraine’s energy system. The company is aligning its actions with NEC Ukrenergo.
