Since the beginning of the year, DTEK Energy's mechanical engineers have produced 760,000 spare parts and 10 new shearers to support Ukrainian coal production

DTEK Energy's machine-building companies continue to work hard to meet the equipment needs of Ukrainian mines and thus help them produce coal for the needs of thermal power plants.

To this end, in the first nine months of this year, machine builders manufactured and repaired 982 units of mining equipment. The main products include 10 new roadheaders and shearers. The plants‘ employees also supplied 758,000 spare parts and components to support the miners’ needs.

‘We have entered another unprecedented heating season. But we have been preparing in advance and intensively to be ready for it. As far as possible, of course, in the context of the war and the consequences of shelling. For many months now, power engineers have been continuing to restore the power grid 24/7. Miners extract coal and maintain sufficient fuel supplies at thermal power plants. And mechanical engineers help them by providing the necessary equipment. The key thing for everyone is to restore capacities as soon as possible and improve the reliability of Ukrainian TPPs over the winter,' said Oleksandr Fomenko, CEO of DTEK Energy.

Owing to the support of mechanical engineers in equipment, the company's miners commissioned 16 new longwalls in the first nine months of this year. Another 9 are expected to be commissioned by the end of the year.

The company's investments in Ukrainian coal mining are expected to reach about UAH 7.7 billion by the end of the year.
