As the heating season approaches, DTEK Energy's power engineers and repairmen continue to repair and restore the capacities of thermal power plants damaged and destroyed during massive enemy attacks on the energy sector.
According to preliminary data, in January-July this year, the company invested almost UAH 2 billion of its own funds in the repair campaign at TPPs.
‘There are just a little over two months left before the start of the heating season. Therefore, power engineers and repairmen keep working day and night to restore and return as many damaged capacities to the grid as possible. They will partially succeed, but the extent of the damage is so large that they will continue to repair the facilities in the same mode throughout the winter and in the following years, as required for a full recovery,’ said DTEK Energy CEO Ildar Salieiev.
In total, the company plans to invest about UAH 3.9 bln in repairs and restoration of TPPs this year. This is in line with last year's investments.
For reference
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, DTEK Energy's TPPs have been attacked by the enemy over 180 times. In March through June of this year alone, the enemy committed seven massive attacks on the company's TPPs. The shelling destroyed or damaged about 90% of DTEK's thermal generation capacity. According to preliminary data, about UAH 14-16 bln (USD 350-400 mln) is needed to restore the facilities damaged by the attacks. This includes damage to equipment and the cost of repairs.
