Despite the start of the heating season, power engineers of DTEK Energy continue to restore TPPs as the scale of their damage caused by massive russian shelling remains unprecedented.
To this end, the company has invested about UAH 2.6 billion in repairs to restore thermal generation over the first ten months of this year.
‘What the Ukrainian energy system has gone through in the two and a half years of war has not been experienced by any energy system in the world. Thermal power generation is at the focus of russia's massive attacks, with 90% of it destroyed or damaged. However, Ukrainian power engineers have risen to this challenge, working hard day and night to recover as much capacity as possible. And to do it as quickly as possible,' said DTEK Energy CEO Oleksandr Fomenko.
The company's investments in repairs and restoration of its TPPs are expected to reach UAH 3.8 billion this year.
For reference.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, DTEK Energy's TPPs have been attacked by the enemy almost 190 times. The attacks resulted in 56 power engineers being injured and 3 being killed. In March through June this year alone, the enemy carried out seven massive attacks on the company's TPPs.
