Last month, DTEK Energy's coal underground mines commissioned 4 new coal longwalls. The hard work of the miners enabled to launch one of the longwalls ahead of schedule.
In total, in two months of 2024, the company's miners have already commissioned 6 new longwalls. This will allow the miners to meet the fuel needs of thermal power plants during the next heating season.
"We got through this winter largely thanks to the coordinated, timely and intensive preparation of all parties involved - machine builders, miners and power engineers. We are already laying a solid foundation for the next winter. The new longwalls guarantee sustainable coal production and, consequently, reliable operation of thermal generation throughout the year, especially during peak hours and the upcoming heating season," said DTEK Energy CEO Ildar Salieiev.
In 2023, DTEK Energy commissioned 26 new coal longwalls. The company's investments in Ukrainian coal production amounted to about UAH 7 bln, which is almost twice as much as in 2022.
