DTEK Dobropolyeugol miners produced over 4 million tons of coal in a year

4,200,000 tons of coal were raised in 2019 by miners of two mine groups of DTEK Dobropolyeugol. Miners of Dobropillya increased production by almost 100,000 tons during the year. Average daily production exceeded 11,500 tons. This is enough to produce electricity within 24 hours by a thermal power plant such as Kurakhivska TPP.

During the year, coal in Dobropillya was mined at five mines: Dobropilska (an annual result of 1,368 thousand tons), Novodonetska (a result of 970 thousand tons), Almazna (a result of 930 thousand tons), Bilozerska (854 thousand tons), and Pioner (94 thousand tons).

The achieved indicators are the result of the professional work of miners and the use of new equipment, in particular, the new generation CLS-450 and KDK-500 mining combines from Corum machine builders. In 2019, DTEK allocated more than UAH 772 million to support and develop Bilozerske and Dobropilske Mine Groups.

“The main event of 2019 for our Mine Group is the implementation of the annual plan for coal production,” Oleksandr Mohylchenko, Director of Dobropilske Mine Group, noted. “Teams of Almazna and Dobropilska Mines produced 2 million 298,000 tons of coal. This is almost 600,000 more than a year earlier. I am glad that such a result has been achieved for the first time in the history of the enterprise. Our mining sites have worked effectively: 4 (Maksym Divulskyi, supervisor, Serhii Chuhunov, foreman), 2 (Oleksandr Brych, supervisor, Ivan Chipil, foreman), 1 (Yevhen Yakovenkos Supervisor, Vitalii Boiev, foreman). The tunneling teams did not let down either: they fulfilled the annual plan of Oleksii Dehtiariov team UPR-1 (Yurii Smoliak, supervisor), Serhii Lytvynov team UPR-3 (Ivan Ostapenko, supervisor) ahead of schedule.”

“Bilozerske Mine Group has extracted 1,900,000 tons of coal,” Vitalii Olkhovyi, Director of Mine Group, said. “Miners of site 2 of Bilozerska Mine did notedly good job last year. In the fourth quarter of 2019, they mined more than 100,000 tons of coal per month from the 2nd southern longwall and were the leaders in terms of production among all sites at DTEK Energy mines. The team, supervised by a young and promising supervisor, Oleksandr Derzhak, and a foreman, Volodymyr Kasionkin, set a record by extracting more than 110,000 tons of coal from one longwall in November. This is the best result in the history of our Dobropillya enterprises. And, teams of coal mining sites 1 and 3 at Novodonetska Mine, under the leadership of supervisors Mykola Parashynets and Oleksandr Yefremov also increased production: in total they produced more than 889 thousand tons of coal in a year. As a result of this, our Mine Group implemented the business plan in the fourth quarter.”

“4.2 million tons in a year is not just a figure. Hard, daily work of thousands of miners is behind it,” Yurii Cherednychenko, General Director of DTEK Dobropolyeugol, said. “I want to thank all the employees for their difficult but necessary work. Successful operation of our coal enterprise is not only light and heat in Ukrainian homes, a guarantee of stability and well-being of miners’ families but also our contribution to the energy independence of Ukraine.”
