Luhansk TPP is disconnected from the power system due to the unstable situation in the region
Thermal power generation21 February 2022

Today, February 21, 2022, at 1:10 p.m., the only working power unit of Luhansk TPP was disconnected from the power network due to the disconnection of Lysychansk overhead line-220. Fires were also recorded near the combustibles and lubricants warehouse. Stuff members and basic technological equipment were not damaged.

Currently, power engineers are waiting for the cessation of shelling to resume work on the plant.

According to the circumstances, the administration of Luhansk TPP decided to minimize the stay of employees at the TPP and not to go out into the open area in the absence of urgent operational necessity. Employees safety is a key priority for us.

DTEK keeps the situation under control and synchronizes its actions with NEС “Ukrenergo” and the Civil-Military Administration to solve the problem productively and provide consumers with electricity.

We would also like to inform you that earlier today power lines were damaged as the result of shelling of the territory near the town of Shchastia. As a result, the city, household plumbing, and water pumping stations were de-energized, and the city's water supply was cut off. The area of the heating network near the water pumping station was also damaged, which caused the heat supply to stop.
