At the equator of the heating season, DTEK Energy power engineers completed the scheduled repair of a power unit at one of its power plants.
The power unit has already been connected to the Ukrainian power grid and is now carrying load. It is planned to increase the unit's capacity to 170 MW shortly.
The upgraded capacity will help to boost thermal generation at the height of the heating season and peaks in electricity consumption.
In 2023, DTEK Energy carried out 24 repairs of power units as part of the annual scheduled maintenance campaign. According to preliminary data, investments in the repair campaign amounted to about UAH 4 billion, which is almost twice as much as a year earlier.
Power engineers continue to do their best to keep the energy grid running reliably, given the limited internal reserves of generating capacity in the system (caused by the aftermath of hostile shelling and the occupation of power facilities), and thus keep Ukrainians' homes warm and light.
