To date, DTEK Energy has already imported nearly 40,000 tonnes of coal of the planned 210,000 tonnes to get through the heating season.
This was announced by Ildar Saleev, CEO of DTEK Energy, on his Facebook page.
According to him, the company is doing everything possible to supply its Thermal Power Plants with the necessary fuel.
“Our miners extract the coal to ensure the stable operation of Thermal Power Plants during the heating season 24/7. Ukrainian coal extraction is our No. 1 priority, and the UAH 7.4 billion investment into our coal operations at the end of this year is a testament to that”, he noted.
Additionally, he said, the company imports coal from abroad “to be ready to back up colleagues in the face of enemy fire if necessary”.
According to Ildar Saleev, 625 additional train cars full of fuel have already been delivered to DTEK Energy Thermal Power Plants since the end of September. This is more than 38,000 tonnes of coal for Ukrainian Thermal Power Plants to use during winter.
In total, throughout the entire heating season, the Company plans to import about 210,000 tonnes of fuel from Poland.
Together with the coal extracted in-house, additional batches of imported fuel will make it possible to strengthen the reliability of thermal generation and the energy system throughout the winter, and this is power and heat in the homes of Ukrainians. We're moving on," Ildar Saleev assured.
