DTEK Zaporizka TPP completed the 2021 repair campaign at the beginning of the heating season.
Recently, power unit No. 3 has been connected to the power grid after a 60-day overhaul: the service life of the power unit has been extended, technical and economic indicators have been improved.
The repairmen performed a complex of repairing work at the turbine, boiler and electrical equipment of the power unit. The 3T transformer was overhauled, the turbine pressure cylinders, electrostatic precipitators were repaired, and the power unit’s dust system was restored.
‘Our main task is reliable supply of electricity to Ukrainian consumers, stable and uninterrupted operation in the autumn and winter period. And in order to achieve this, we are improving the technical and economic indicators of the Zaporizka TPP power units and restoring their design capacity. Therefore, DTEK is improving energy security and energy independence of Ukraine,’ said Maksym Shevtsov, Acting Director of DTEK Zaporizka TPP.
High-quality repair of the plant power units will ensure reliable operation without equipment downtime at maximum temperature in the autumn and winter period. For consumers, this means uninterrupted availability of electricity in their homes.
‘Repair of power units is the most important component of preparation for operation during the autumn and winter period. And although the timing of the overhaul of power unit No. 3 has been repeatedly adjusted due to the high demand for our capacities in the energy market, we have completed the scheduled work, thereby completing the repair campaign this year,’ said Oleksii Fomenko, Acting Chief Engineer of DTEK Zaporizka TPP.
Currently, four units of DTEK Zaporizka TPP are operating and bearing the 952 MW load in the unified energy system of Ukraine.
In total, to ensure reliable and uninterrupted operation of thermal power plants, especially during the heating season, within 9 months this year, DTEK ENERGY allocated almost UAH 1.7 billion for the repair of TPP units, BOP, buildings and structures. In total, by the end of 2021, the company plans to allocate more than UAH 2.5 billion for TPP repairs.
