Cleanness through unity: Dobrotvir power engineers joined the Green City action

30 employees of the Dobrotvirska TPP took part in the Green City action. DTEK cares about the environment, and the power engineers have taken over to do something great together. The garbage was removed, 10 trees were planted, all the fallen leaves and dry branches were disposed of. The traditional Green City action has been held for 8 years, all over Ukraine. DTEK Energy employees, miners, power engineers, and machine builders not only tidy up their towns and villages but plant trees and flowers as well. All that people from a responsible company, who care about their companies and the places they live in, can do.

Due to quarantine restrictions, fewer workers joined the event this year, but the final result was not affected because the work was in full swing. The work was done in compliance with all necessary quarantine restrictions.

“The tradition of caring for own city is very strong among the Dobrotvir power engineers. For many years, we have been enhancing both the enterprise territory and its adjacent area. Because DTEK Energy is a partner to towns and villages where it operates, and care for the environment is one of the core values of our company. I thank all the activists who helped to do something truly great and useful,” said Oleh Tarashchuk, director of the Dobrotvirska TPP.

There was a lot of cleaning around the park area in front of the Dobrotvir power plant checkpoint. Fallen leaves and dry branches were piled up, and trees were planted. To make the whole territory cleaner, even the abandoned areas were cleaned, and the garbage was removed. After all, only together we can make a real difference. Now, on the way to and from work, employees can admire the view of a tidy territory.

“Every year, I join these events and truly feel like a member of DTEK Energy’s large and friendly family, which cares about towns and villages, their ecological state and appearance. I am convinced that tidiness is not about cleaning, but not littering, and the same way green approach is about taking care of the environment. It is important for us all to take care of the environment and join the Green City,” told Nadiya Roik, a chemical laboratory assistant and participant of the event.
