Power engineers at DTEK Dobrotvirska TPP started preparing for the autumn and winter season. To ensure stable electricity and heat supply to Ukrainians, they will repair power unit No. 8. This is DTEK ENERGY’s contribution to the country’s energy independence.
To ensure its reliable and efficient operation, the TPP’s equipment requires constant maintenance. The moderate repairs to the power unit are performed by the personnel of internal contractors ‘Galremenergo’ and ‘Interenergoservice’. The repairs are expected to be completed in 60 days.
At DTEK Dobrotvirska TPP’s power unit 8, diagnostics of boiler, turbine, and electrical equipment is performed. The repair job that will be performed by the power engineers will include the restoration of the unit’s operating parameters by increasing the temperature of direct and secondary steam and the pressure before the turbine. To achieve this, the turbine will be repaired and the seal of the high-pressure rotor will be replaced. Hydrogen seals of the turbine generator, steam superheating wall of the boiler, and burners will be replaced. The 220 kV high-voltage bushing on the transformer will be replaced. The electrostatic precipitator will be repaired to reduce emissions of harmful substances and ensure subsequent compliance with regulatory parameters. The repairs will reduce the unit’s accident rate and specific fuel consumption to improve the quality and competitiveness of electricity generation.
‘We are approaching the autumn and winter season, and this is why we have to put in a great deal of effort to get ready for a stable supply of electricity and heat to the region. After all, equipment wears out during the operation and requires upgrades and routine maintenance. This is an ordinary scheduled and at the same time extremely important process,’ said Oleh Tarashchuk, Director of DTEK Dobrotvirska TPP.
