DTEK Supports Talented Youth: an Innovative Educational Project for Children ‘KIDENERGY’ Was Launched in Enerhodar

On September 12, an innovative educational project for children ‘KIDENERGY’ was launched in Enerhodar, with the support of DTEK Zaporizka TPP and Enerhodar Town Council. Enerhodar became the first town where this project will be implemented. After successful implementation, ‘KIDENERGY’ will be introduced in other regions where DTEK ENERGY enterprises are located.

For three months, teenagers will receive trainings in a relaxed and playful atmosphere in robotics, 3D modelling, financial literacy and planning. Children will be taught communication and leadership skills, not to be afraid of public speaking, and shown how to become a blogger on social networks. Teachers will be well-known and successful activists and public figures. They will be involved in the project as coaches and adult mentors. The curriculum is designed specifically for schoolchildren and for two age groups of 8–11 and 12–16 years olds. Classes will be free of charge and will be held on Friday through Sunday weekly.

‘DTEK supports talented youth and therefore creates all conditions for their development. In partnership with the Enerhodar Town Council, we have developed a unique program for teenagers, taking into account the needs of our time. I am glad that now all the children of Enerhodar, and later, of other cities of Ukraine, will be educated in different areas. By combining different directions in one course, we lay a solid foundation for the development of children. After all, they must master modern technologies, create innovative solutions, be able to plan activities and quickly navigate in a rapidly developing world,’ said Maksym Shevtsov, Acting Director of DTEK Zaporizka TPP.

‘KIDENERGY’ is planned to continue during the 2021–2022 school year. The project provides for three educational waves, and groups of young Enerhodar residents will study for three months. Upon completion, children will receive a relevant certificate. Also, participants will be able to write and defend their social projects — ideas for the development of the town and its residents. DTEK and the authorities will help to implement the top projects.
