A lease for Dobropolyeugol mines is terminated by agreement of the parties: miners will get a permanent market for their products once the mines join Centrenergo
A resolution adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to establish a vertically integrated company on the basis of Centrenergo PJSC and state-operated coal mining companies was published today. The parties agreed to terminate the lease of Dobropolyeugol mines to let them join the newly created company. This will stabilize the situation with coal sales and provide Dobropillya miners with stable jobs.
DTEK, being a responsible and reliable company, treats stable jobs for Dobropillya miners as its top priority in the midst of a crisis in the Ukrainian energy sector. DTEK uses every effort to attain this objective. In particular, a contract to supply coal made with Centrenergo allowed Dobropolyeugol miners to return to their work following 3.5-month downtime caused by the lack of demand for Ukrainian coal.
