DTEK Skhidenergo LLC is a powerful energy-generating company that is a part of DTEK and produces electric and thermal energy for the needs of the eastern regions of Ukraine.
Installed capacity of companies of DTEK Skhidenergo is 3,024 MW.
Generating capacities are concentrated at two thermal power plants: DTEK Kurakhivska TPP (Kurakhovo, Donetsk Region) and DTEK Luganska TPP Shchastia, Lugansk Region) In spring of 2017, the company has lost control over the third thermal power plant – DTEK Zuivska TPP located in the temporarily uncontrolled territory in Zugres, Donetsk Region
14 power units are installed at the company’s TPPs:
- DTEK Kurakhivska TPP – 7 units: unit No. 3 – 200 MW, unit No. 4 – 210 MW, unit No. 5 – 222 MW, units No. 6-9 with a capacity of 225 MW. The main design fuel is G-group power plant coal, backup fuel is gas and heavy fuel oil.
- DTEK Luganska TPP – 7 units: No. 9, 11, 14 and 15 – 200 MW, No. 10 and 13 – 210 MW, No. 12 – 175 MW (mothballed). The main project fuel is A-group power plant coal, backup fuel is gas and heavy fuel oil.
The share of DTEK Skhidenergo in 2016 was 29.2% of the electric power generated at the DTEK TPP.
The programme of a large-scale technical re-equipment of generating capacities continues at the TPP of the company. During 2009-2015, 5 units of DTEK Kurakhivska TPP, No. 5-9, have been retrofitted.
Due to upgrade, the plant increased the installed capacity of the units by a total of 72 MW, increased the flexibility range from 80 to 120 MW, increased the efficiency of the units by 12%, and significantly improved the environmental indicators. In 2012, the capacity of unit No. 10 of Luganska TPP has been increased by 35 MW after the retrofitting.
