This was announced by Ildar Salieiev, CEO at DTEK Energy, on his Facebook page.
He says that the enemy keeps attacking Ukraine's energy sector, trying to leave Ukrainians without electricity, but power engineers, repairmen, miners and engineers at DTEK Energy have different plans.
He is confident that their priorities remain unchanged: the fastest possible restoration of facilities damaged by shelling, intensive and daily preparations for the heating season so that Ukrainians can have electricity and heat for as long as possible.
Salieiev clarified that Ukrainian miners also have their share of responsibility in this regard. They are the ones who have to maintain sufficient fuel reserves for the reliable operation of thermal generation, which is tens of thousands of tonnes of coal every day.
“I have recently visited our coal enterprises that are located near the combat zone. Despite the constant “tension” nearby, their work is in full swing, their eyes are full of energy and faith in the best. Everyone feels responsible to every Ukrainian. We still have a lot of tasks. Since the beginning of the year, DTEK Energy miners have put 14 new longwalls into operation. Another 12 are planned to be put into operation within the next 4 months”, he said.
Mr. Salieiev assured that everything is done to ensure that Ukrainian thermal power plants can operate reliably during peak demand and during the autumn and winter periods.
“It is obvious to everyone that the coming winter will be very difficult. But everyone is working extremely hard on the energy front, everyone is in their place, to cope with such complex tasks”, he said.
For reference
In 2023, 26 new coal longwalls were put into operation by the miners of DTEK Energy. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the company has invested UAH 17 billion of its own funds in Ukrainian coal mining. Investments were directed to the construction and repair of permanent mine workings, completion of coal longwalls, installation of excavating equipment in mines, underground mine transportation, and production capacity maintenance projects.
