Despite the war and shelling of energy facilities, the balancing capacities of DTEK Energy's thermal power plants continue to maintain the reliability of thermal generation and the energy grid, especially during peak consumption hours.
To this end, in the first two months of this year, DTEK Energy's thermal power plants supplied over 2.6 billion kWh of electricity to the Ukrainian grid.
This is 6% more than in January-February last year. This is amount of electricity generated in the grid is equivalent to the average electricity consumption of almost 900,000 households over the course of a year.
"Throughout this winter, all available equipment at our thermal power plants operated at maximum capacity. And not only for balancing, as usual, but also for base load to ensure a basic level of electricity. Especially during periods when there was an increase in consumption due to weather conditions and low temperatures. So, despite the hostile shelling of our power plants, and there were almost 40 of them this winter, power engineers continue to do everything possible to ensure Ukrainians have electricity and heat," said DTEK Energy CEO Ildar Salieiev.
