According to preliminary data, in January–May this year DTEK Energy invested around UAH 7 billion in preparing for the next heating season. The company channelled the bulk of these funds into restoring thermal generation capacities destroyed by the enemy, a repair campaign to improve the reliability of equipment, and support for the production capacities of its mines and machine-building plants. This work is being carried out to make the power system more resilient during summer consumption peaks and to prepare for the next heating season.
Ukraine's energy sector continues to operate amid a constant threat and new attacks. During the past autumn–winter period, energy infrastructure once again became one of the enemy's main targets. Between October 2025 and February 2026 alone, DTEK Energy's thermal power plants were attacked more than 11 times, causing unprecedented damage to equipment and production infrastructure. In June this year, the company's thermal generation suffered fresh strikes.
DTEK Energy is currently continuing its restoration works and repair campaign. Power engineers are preparing capacities to operate under increased loads and supplying enterprises with the necessary materials and equipment. A separate area of investment is support for the more reliable operation of mines and machine-building plants.
“Thousands of power engineers and repair crews are working on restoration around the clock. We are doing everything possible to bring damaged capacities back into operation and improve the reliability of equipment, in order to help the power system get through the summer consumption peaks and the coming winter. But the scale of the destruction is enormous. That is why, taking into account the new waves of attacks, restoration will continue up to the start of the next heating season, throughout the winter and into next year. Our task remains unchanged: to restore as quickly as possible what the enemy destroys, and to make the energy system more resilient for millions of Ukrainians,” noted Oleksandr Fomenko, CEO of DTEK Energy.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, DTEK Energy has channelled UAH 51 billion into repairs and restoration of thermal power plants and support for the operation of mines and machine-building plants.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, DTEK Energy's thermal power plants have suffered almost 230 attacks. After the most critical damage, power engineers have had to effectively rebuild the targeted plants from scratch 68 times — resuming the equipment operation, bringing the generation units back online and once again ensuring electricity production.
