On July 14, the first 50 wagons with coal were dispatched to the address of Centrenergo TPP under the contract for the supply of fuel entered into between the state company and DTEK Energy.
The contract for the coal supply enabled to resume the operation of DTEK Dobropolyeugol mines on July 13 which had been idle for more than 3 months until that moment due to the inability to sell products.
Coal from Dobropolyeugol mines is supplied to Centrenergo TPPs at the import parity price (Rotterdam+) which corresponds to the European price and is cheaper than coal from state-owned mines and gas.
“The resumption of fuel supplies to Centrenergo is an important event not only for Dobropolyeugol mines but also for the entire coal industry. The sale of Ukrainian coal to Ukrainian thermal power plants will not only give the miners confidence in the future but also provide a significant contribution to the energy independence of our country. For our part, we, as a responsible company, guarantee Centrenergo stable supplies of high quality coal at a competitive, transparent price without corruption,” Dmytro Sakharuk, General Director of DTEK Energy, emphasized.
Presently, the coal shipped to the Centrenergo plant is being raised from DTEK Dobropolyeugol warehouse. Enterprises are carrying out preparatory work to restore production. Production at Dobropolyeugol mines is planned to resume in the end of this week.
