Since the beginning of 2020, the Galremenergo’s repair team has replaced 300 meters of the ash and slag pipeline on the territory of Dobrotvirska TPP and under the Lviv – Kovel railway tracks.
“In addition to complete replacement of old pipes, we repaired 854 meters of the backup ash and slag pipeline and made a 180˚ turn of 991 meters of the pipe. We also manufactured and installed supports for that ash and slag pipeline. These measures will facilitate further operation and integrity of transportation of ash and slag,” says Vasyl Khymka, a production line supervisor.
“DTEK Energy is a reliable and responsible company. This is why we regularly implement projects and perform work aimed at reducing and preventing adverse impact on the environment. The replacement and repair of the ash and slag pipeline will help prevent bursts of the pipe and discharge of the ash and slag on the land,” adds Oleh Tarashchuk, director of DTEK Dobrotvirska TPP. This is also a contribution to the plant’s stable operation. A burst of the ash and slag pipeline could lead to the shutdown of the entire power plant because it would be impossible to remove used slag from the plant. This is our contribution to Ukraine’s energy independence.
The repair team plans to replace another 95 meters of the ash and slag pipeline running under the railway tracks and install 300 meters of a backup ash and slag pipeline by the end of this year. Currently, the repair teams service six lines of ash and slag pipelines each having the length of 4 km.
