DTEK Energy's machine-building companies continue to provide Ukrainian underground mines with the equipment they need for coal production.
Between January and April this year, mechanical engineers manufactured and repaired 1,136 units of mining equipment, including three new shearers for longwall mining.
In addition, the machine builders supported the needs of miners with more than 735,000 spare parts and components.
‘We are already actively preparing for the next autumn and winter period. The main task is to go through it as securely as possible. To do this, our machine builders provide miners with the necessary equipment and hundreds of thousands of spare parts that are crucial for the reliable coal production and thus the operation of thermal power generation, especially during peak electricity consumption,' said DTEK Energy CEO Oleksandr Fomenko.
For reference
Since the beginning of the year, DTEK Energy coal miners have already commissioned 5 new longwalls to prepare the thermal generation for the summer consumption peaks and the next heating season. Two of them were brought into operation in April. In 2024, the company's investments in Ukrainian coal mining totalled about UAH 7.5 billion, and over the last three years (2022-2024) - UAH 18 billion. The funds were spent on the construction and repair of capital mine workings, equipping coal faces, supplying mines with tunnelling equipment, underground mine transport and projects to support production facilities.
