DTEK Energy's machine-building companies continue to provide Ukrainian mines with the equipment needed for coal mining.
In January-February this year, the company's machine builders manufactured and repaired almost 505 units of mining equipment, including two new shearers for longwall mining.
In addition, mechanical engineers supported the needs of miners with more than 330,000 spare parts and components.
‘We still have more than a month of the heating season ahead of us. But we need to prepare for the summer consumption peaks and the next winter. We are doing this on the whole energy front. Power engineers are working non-stop to restore facilities after the shelling, and miners are working to ensure that thermal generation has sufficient fuel needs. And machine builders are working hard to provide them with equipment, spare parts and everything they need to produce coal. After all, the most important thing is that Ukrainians continue to have electricity and heat,' said Oleksandr Fomenko, CEO of DTEK Energy.
For reference
DTEK Energy miners commissioned the first two new coal longwall faces this year in January. In 2024, the company's investments in Ukrainian coal mining totalled UAH 7.5 billion. These funds were spent on the construction and repair of capital mine workings, equipping coal faces, providing mines with tunnelling equipment, underground mine transport and projects to maintain production facilities.
