DTEK Energy Has Invested Over UAH 2.1 Billion in TPP Repairs and Restoration Since the Beginning of the Year

Power engineers of DTEK Energy continue to do their best to restore all possible capacities damaged or destroyed as a result of massive enemy attacks on the energy sector before and during the upcoming heating season.

To do this as quickly as possible, the Company has invested over UAH 2.1 billion of its own funds in the first eight months of 2024 to repair and restore thermal power plants.

“The energy sector in general and thermal generation in particular continues to be a priority target of the enemy. Therefore, we have no other choice and continue to do all we can to prevent the enemy's plans from being realized. And to ensure that Ukrainians have electricity and heat for as long as possible. However, the damage caused by the shelling is so extensive that we will restore the facilities before the heating season, during the winter and in the following years”, said Ildar Salieiev, CEO at DTEK Energy.

In total, the company plans to invest about UAH 3.9 billion in TPP repairs and restoration this year. This is in line with last year's investments.

For reference

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, TTPs of DTEK Energy have been attacked by the enemy more than 180 times. As a result, 56 power engineers were injured and 3 were killed. In March and June this year alone, the enemy carried out seven massive attacks on TPPs of the company. About 90% of the thermal generation facilities of DTEK were destroyed or damaged as a result of the shelling. According to preliminary data, about UAH 14–16 billion (USD 350–400 million) is needed to restore the facilities damaged as a result of attacks. This includes damage to equipment and the cost of repairs.
