Since the Beginning of the Full-Scale Invasion, Over 2.8 Thousand DTEK Energy Employees Have Donated Blood for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the War Victims
DTEK companies and their employees continue to regularly help the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the war victims. It has long been a good volunteer tradition and everyone's contribution to saving lives and donating blood. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, more than 2,800 employees of DTEK Energy's power generation, coal mining and machine-building companies have donated blood for the Armed Forces and the war victims.

Most of the employees have been visiting blood transfusion centres for many times. Nine of the company's enterprises are located near the combat zone, so employees are well aware of the value of donated blood for defenders, children affected by the war and everyone in need.

According to Vladyslav, a specialist at one of DTEK Energy's machine-building plants, being a donor is not about heroism, but about the opportunity to help those who are in dire need.

‘I know that even if my blood is not used directly, it can be processed into medicines, and this is also a great help. In these times when blood is in great demand, it is important that everyone understands that being a donor is our contribution to victory. It's a small step that almost everyone can take, but it makes a big difference,’ he said.

There are many DTEK Energy employees who have donated blood dozens of times. Maksym, a power engineer at one of DTEK Energy's thermal power plants, first donated blood when he was a student and continues this tradition to this day. He has already made more than 30 donations.

‘Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, I have already gone to the blood donation centre 10 times with my colleagues from the energy sector. Medical workers tell us directly that there is a critical shortage of blood and ask us to come more often. Therefore, as soon as two months pass, we go to the next blood donation,' says Maksym.

The company's enterprises are actively helping Ukrainian defenders directly. Recently, DTEK Energy helped the Ukrainian Armed Forces build 26 km of defensive fortifications in Donetsk region, and underground miners from one of its coal companies donated more than 4,000 cubic metres of timber to the Ukrainian army to strengthen their positions and heat the frontline. Over the past two years, the company's coal mining operations have also delivered more than 1,000 tonnes of coal to the defenders of the ‘zero line’ and military units. Since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion, DTEK Group has allocated over UAH 1.3 bln to support the armed forces and humanitarian purposes.
