Participants of the DTEK Youth Movement have been changing life in Ukraine’s regions for the better for 2 years

2 years ago, on August 13, young DTEK employees created the Youth Movement. They were united by common goals to improve the population’s quality of life and develop social infrastructure in the territories where the company’s enterprises operate. During this time, young people have implemented more than 350 sports, volunteer, and cultural projects.

“At the beginning of the creation of the Youth Movement, in 2018, we tried to give our young employees maximum freedom, not to limit their desire for self-realization. They independently choose areas of work, form teams and implement projects, determine the importance and secondary importance of tasks. For many, participation in the movement becomes a good “social lift.” Due to the opportunity to prove themselves, young people move up the career ladder, improve the ability to work in a team, improve the skills of interaction in a team. We believe that comprehensive work with the youth of business and the state will help the development of Ukraine,” Dmytro Sakharuk, General Director of DTEK Energy, said.

According to Yevheniia Volkova, the leader of the company’s Youth Movement, this movement for DTEK’s youth is an opportunity to find like-minded and just as caring people. Together, in their free time from work, they help those who need support, self-educate, and organize training for others.

“Our movement unites more than 800 employees of DTEK enterprises from all over Ukraine who endorse common values. And we are glad that more and more participants who are striving to make the country better are joining us,” Yevheniia Volkova, emphasized.

DTEK supports talented young people and creates opportunities for their education and development. In addition to events at enterprises and in regions where the company’s enterprises operate, young activists participate in the international projects of the UN Global Compact in Ukraine: Young SDG Innovators and Upshift UNICEF.

“DTEK has many talented young employees, leaders who implement innovations and associate their professional future with the company. I am proud that the Youth Movement, that unites people contributing to change, is already 2 years old. Such initiatives contribute to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and comply with the ESG principles that the company is guided by while implementing its own development strategy,” Oleksandr Kucherenko, Director for Sustainable Development at DTEK, stated.
