Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, DTEK Energy has been regularly helping the Ukrainian Armed Forces with coal for heating. In just two years, the company's coal mining assets have delivered more than a thousand tons of coal to the Ukrainian defenders at the frontline and to military units.

Until now, the coal was mainly transported in trucks in bulk. However, in order to reach as many units as possible with the humanitarian aid and at the request of the military, this time the volunteer employees packed it in 50 kg bags. Recently, the first batches have been sent to the defenders in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia.

"We appreciate the support from the company. This warm help has gone to the most remote positions. Our guys need fuel in every dugout," said Oleksandr, a soldier from Dnipro region.

According to Oleg, a miner at one of DTEK Energy's coal mining businesses, he and his colleagues were among the first to join the coal packing for the defenders.

"We are helping because we want our defenders, many of whom are our colleagues, to be warm so that they do not freeze, can dry their clothes, heat water or food. We are very grateful to them for driving the enemy off our land and holding the frontline. Every Ukrainian today should help the military to make it a little easier for them, to make them feel the support of the country's population and a reliable rear, to give them the strength to hold on and destroy the enemy," he said.

The company's coal mines are constantly in touch with the military units that are currently defending Ukraine.

"We help them with everything we use in production that can be useful at the front and, of course, with coal. We continue to keep our guys and girls warm as they fight for our freedom and independence in extremely difficult conditions," said Andrii, Deputy Chief Executive Director of DTEK Energy coal mine.
