By the morning of November 19, Geroiv Kosmosu Mine resumed its coal-mining operations and preparation of mining workings following the mitigation of an accident that occurred in longwall 1126 on November 15. The section where the accident occurred was sealed with leak-tight partitions according to recommendations provided by the State Paramilitary Mine Rescue Service.
All miners that were under the ground at the time when the accident happened were examined by doctors who confirmed that they did not sustain any injuries or damage to their health. Today, all miners work within their work schedules. Prior to resuming the coal mining and excavation operations, Geroiv Kosmosu Mine was carefully inspected, all workings and equipment were checked, and gas was drained from all development headings.
Currently, the mine resumed its normal operations, coal is mined at one longwall, and installation and dismantling works are being completed at another two longwalls. Five tunneling teams are engaged in preparing new landwalls for coal mining.
