Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed a decree awarding state honours to 47 representatives of the energy sector. Among them are three employees of DTEK Energy.
‘Today is not a Power Engineer Day, but given the attacks we are facing and what the enemy is doing to our country’s energy sector, one could say that every day is a Power Engineer's Day. But today is not a holiday, it is work, and I really wanted to greet you personally. You are doing incredible things,’ said the Head of State.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi stressed that every job and every speciality of Ukrainian energy workers is very important right now.
The President noted that Ukrainian energy workers are injured while working and even sacrifice their lives to re-energise Ukraine after enemy terror. Our country will always remember their deeds.
The Order of Courage III degree was awarded to:
- Anton Kalinin, electrician at Ternivske Mine Office. After the attack on the mine, he extinguished the fire and dealt with its aftermath.
- Hennadii Krasikov, electrician at Kryvyi Rih TPP. He participated in the containment and response to the emergency situation after the russian shelling.
- Artem Stepanenko, section supervisor at Heroiv Kosmosu Mine Office. He organised the safe evacuation of nearly 500 mine workers and dealt with the aftermath of the enemy attack.
DTEK Energy sincerely congratulates the power engineers and miners on their well-deserved awards. Your dedicated work and professionalism are a reliable foundation for the resilience of the energy system in wartime, ensuring that Ukrainian homes have light and heat.
