In 2018, miners of the Belozerskoe mines management are facing the task of increasing the extraction of coal to 2.5 million tons in order to provide domestic thermal generation with the necessary fuel. In the development of production and coal mining at the enterprise, DTEK will invest UAH 579 million in 2018. This is almost one and a half times more than in the last year of 2017.

First of all, investments in Shu Belozerskoe will be directed to purchase of cleaning and tunneling equipment, its overhaul, to carrying out and overhauling of mine workings, modernization of the underground transport chain and stationary equipment. In addition, it is planned to purchase two tunneling combines of efficiency and rocket engine "Hazemag", which will help to prepare in advance for the production of coal.

Director of ShU Belozerskoe Evgeny Kolesnichenko noted that the development of production is planned at all mines mines:
- At the Novodonetskaya mine, a second bottom hole will be put into operation, a new production site will be formed. Already, the drifters of the preparatory works section No. 8 at Novodonetskaya are preparing the reserves of layer ℓ3 for working out, where later new lava for coal production will be put into operation. In general, for 3 months of 2018, two new production faces have already been put into operation in the mine management: coal extraction from the third northern lava at the Novodonetskaya mine has been resumed, and the southern root lava has been put into operation at the Belozerskaya mine, where the average daily miners already produce 3 thousand tons of coal.

The active buildup of coal mining at ShU Belozerskoe is part of the program to increase energy independence, which DTEK began to implement in the autumn of 2017. Its main task is to reduce the dependence of domestic thermal generation on fuel imports and to provide its own TPP with coal from Ukrainian extraction.
