Production Upgrade: CORUM GROUP Now Repairs Electric Motors

Corum Miner’s Light opens a production facility for overhaul of explosion-proof electric motors. We have already received the first repair order from Geroiv Kosmosu Mine. This will allow miners to work safely and efficiently, which means it will help strengthen the country’s energy independence.

Repair of electric motors is a new direction for Kharkiv machine builders. The project started in May 2021 and Corum plans to complete the first refurbished electric motors in December. The plant will repair water-cooled and air-cooled harvester and conveyor motors. This will provide mine workers and mines with safe and well-repaired equipment.

‘CORUM GROUP has experience in repairing electric motors,’ noted Serhii Podolian, Electrical Equipment Manager at CORUM GROUP. ‘We have design and technological expertise, and most importantly — employees who will work in this area. We clearly understand the technological processes, we can carry out testing. I am sure that we will perform these and other tasks.’

Repair of electric motors will allow the machine builders of Corum Miner’s Light to master new technological processes — vacuum impregnation of electric motors, manufacture of housing, work with dynamo steel, etc. This will ensure the stability of the enterprise in the future, and therefore all of its employees.

Such repairs will reduce the number of motor failures. Moreover, the plant promises individual approach to each customer, and during repairs, machine builders will be able to perform a full upgrade of electric motors and restore their operating characteristics. In general, the overhaul of electric motors will be performed to the maximum degree resembling the new equipment and will extend its service life as part of a machine.

‘The CORUM GROUP 2030 production strategy provides for the product portfolio development and equipment upgrade. Repair is one of our directions in 2021, and after the repair — mastering the production of electric motors,’ commented Valerii Krupytskyi, Acting Director for Production and Technical Development of CORUM GROUP. ‘A new direction does not only mean changing business and diversifying products, but it also means the responsibility of CORUM GROUP and its participation in the energy and economic security of the country.’
