Maksym worked as a heat treater in the forging and heat-treatment shop of the Druzhkivka Machine-Building Plant. He joined the DTEK Energy team in September 2020.
In September 2021, sensing the approach of a full-scale war, Maksym stepped up to defend Ukraine. After the heroic defence of Mariupol, he was taken into russian captivity at Azovstal on 4 June 2022.
For more than four years, his family, loved ones and colleagues waited for him. And today, at last, came the news everyone had been hoping for — Maksym is among those released.
