Personnel changes at Burshtynska TPP: the plant has a new Director

On January 10, a new Director was introduced at Burshtynska TPP. It was a power engineer with thirty years of experience – Valerii Khomiakov. The newly appointed Director worked his way up from a locksmith to the General Director of Dniproenergo. Oleh Ivakhiv, who until now served as Director of Burshtynska TPP, will remain working at the Plant as Chief Engineer. The company is confident that Oleh Ivakhiv will strengthen the engineering and technical team of the enterprise, and Valerii Khomiakov, together with the team, will make the Plant operation more efficient.

Personnel changes at Burshtynska TPP: the Plant has a new Director
Oleh Ivakhiv has served as Acting Director and Chief Engineer of Burshtynska TPP for the last six months. Under his leadership, the Plant was timely and efficiently prepared for the new heating season: ten out of twelve power units were repaired, three of them were overhauled. Electrostatic precipitators were repaired at two units which helped to reduce the negative impact on the region’s environment.

“I am grateful to Oleh Ivakhiv that, despite such a situation in the Ukrainian energy sector, the Plant is fully ready to operate at full capacity,” Serhii Kurylenko, Director of Electricity Generation at DTEK Energy, noted. “But at the same time, I understand how difficult it is in such conditions to simultaneously fulfill the duties of a Director of the enterprise and a Chief Engineer. That is why it was decided to appoint Valerii Khomiakov, a manager with thirty years of experience in the energy sector, to hold the Director position. And Oleh Ivakhiv will now be able to fully focus on the engineering and technical component of the production process. This personnel decision will strengthen the professional team of the enterprise.”

“Being a Director of a thermal power plant at the present time is not easy and requires a fair amount of courage, resilience, and a cold mind. Valeri Anatoliiovych is exactly the person we want in the capacity of Director of our plant. For my part, I will now be able to completely immerse myself in the technological process because this is one of the most important components of the operation of a thermal power plant, which requires constant attention and concentration. Priorities of DTEK Burshtynska TPP will remain unchanged: we will continue stable and uninterrupted operation as well as contribute to the comprehensive development of the region and the implementation of the community’s social initiatives in life,” Oleh Ivakhiv, Chief Engineer of DTEK Burshtynska TPP, commented.

New non-standard solutions, efficiency at all stages of production, reducing the impact on the environment, profitable production costs, interaction with the regional authorities and society – these are the priority tasks facing the new Director of Burshtynska TPP.

“I understand very well what responsibility is now borne by the entire Plant team, and I am ready to share it with them. A thermal power plant is primarily about people. Both those that work at it, and those that we provide with light and heat. The most important task is to pass the heating season. Prevent disruptions in the operation of energy and heating network,” Valerii Khomiakov, Director of DTEK Burshtynska TPP, said. “Secondly, we must make Burshtynska TPP competitive in the new electricity market. The fate of the city-forming enterprise, its staff, the whole region, and the entire energy industry of Ukraine in particular depend on this.”
