DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko Visits the Company’s Coal Enterprises Near the Front Line

DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko visited enterprises in Dnipro region. During his visit, he familiarised himself with the operations of the mine in the frontline region, met with employees and had a warm conversation with veterans of the russian-Ukrainian war.

Together with DTEK Energy CEO Oleksandr Fomenko, Maxim Timchenko visited one of the coal mines located just a few dozen kilometres from the front line.

During the visit, Mr Timchenko took a look at the main ventilation fan, which was completely renovated in 2023-2024. He also got an overview of the completed solar power plant project, which provides an alternative source of power.

In addition, the mine is planning to install a unit for cogeneration of mine methane, which is released during coal mining. This will reduce methane emissions into the atmosphere by up to 8,000 tonnes per year, which is equivalent to 223,000 tonnes of CO2.

"I always emphasise that DTEK started with coal, and today we have become a leading energy company in Ukraine, known far beyond its borders. Therefore, coal production remains the foundation for both our company and the state as a whole. I sincerely thank each of you for your contribution to the country's energy independence, which you make through your daily work," noted DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko.

At the end of his visit, he met with veterans of the russian-Ukrainian war who, after demobilisation, returned to work at DTEK Energy's coal enterprises. During the meeting, Mr. Timchenko thanked the soldiers for defending Ukraine and for returning to their workplaces.
