DTEK ENERGY cares about the life and health of its employees and implements best practices to improve safety. The company has successfully passed the audit and obtained three certificates of compliance with the international ISO 45001: 2018 standard. The certificates prove that all thermal power plants of the company have a health and safety management system in accordance with the international standards.
Representatives of MS Consulting conducted an audit for compliance with international standards ISO 4500:2018 at DTEK ENERGY. During the audit, specialists assessed the construction of processes for the high-quality functioning of OHS management systems in the company. DTEK DNIPROENERGO (Prydniprovska TPP, Kryvorizka TPP and Zaporizka TPP), DTEK SKHIDENERGO (Luhanska TPP and Kurakhivs’ka TPP) and DTEK WESTENERGY (Dobrotvirska TPP, Burshtynska TPP and Ladyzhynska TPP) obtained ISO 45001 certificates.
The transition to the new standard establishes updated requirements for the occupational safety system to prevent injuries and reduce health risks to workers during the production process. The new ISO 45001 standard assumes a risk-based approach to occupational health and safety with a special focus on leadership issues. This is fully consistent with the company’s approach to risk assessment and the role of leadership at all levels of people management.
‘The strategic goal of DTEK ENERGY is zero injuries. Therefore, as a reliable and responsible company, we pay special attention to occupational safety issues. It is not only the organization of safe workplaces, motivation programs, purchase of PPE, but also continuous training of personnel, development of leadership, focus on hazardous factors through dynamic risk assessment and the formation of a safety culture in the company,’ said Alina Bondarenko, Deputy Director for Development and Services of the Electricity Generation Directorate of DTEK ENERGY.
