DTEK Energy Expresses Condolences to the Family and Friends of Fallen Security Officer Oleh Vahinov and Provides an Update on the Injured Miners

On 3 July, one of DTEK Energy's mines in the Dnipropetrovsk region was significantly damaged as a result of yet another enemy attack. Sadly, during the attack, the enterprise's security service employee Oleh Vahinov was killed.

Oleh was 56 years old. For more than 15 of them, he worked conscientiously in the mine's security, where he was responsible for order and safety. Colleagues remember him as a responsible, calm and kind-hearted person who always tried to do his work accurately and conscientiously.

Previously, Oleh had worked for many years as a crew bus driver at the mine's transport depot, taking miners to work and back home.

“Although Oleh was not a miner, the mines and coal enterprises were like home to him, as they are for many residents of our mining region,” his supervisor recounts.

Colleagues remember Oleh as a person who was always ready to help.

“He was level-headed, wise and kind. He liked to joke, to chat and to support others. That is how we will remember him,” his colleagues say.

Oleh Vahinov is survived by his adult children, his parents and his sister.

Five enterprise employees were also injured in this attack. All of them were promptly given the necessary medical care.

The condition of the injured is currently satisfactory; they are in the region's medical facilities, undergoing treatment and recovery. The company is providing them with the necessary support.

DTEK Energy extends its sincere condolences to the family, loved ones, friends and colleagues of Oleh and wishes all those injured a speedy recovery.
