DTEK Energy Hands Over TPP’s Health Care Facility to the Community To Set Up a Modern Rehab Centre for Veterans and War Victims

DTEK Energy has finished handing over the TPP's health care facility to the local community in Vinnytsia region for free.

The decision was made at a session of the Ladyzhyn City Council on the 29th July.

After comprehensive reconstruction, the facility will be used as a modern rehabilitation centre for veterans, people with disabilities and war victims who need recovery.

The project is being implemented in partnership with local authorities, charitable organisations and international donors. Repair and restoration work is scheduled to start in September with financial support from the French government.

"The rehabilitation centre in Vinnytsia region is an important support for veterans and the community. For DTEK Energy, this is part of our consistent support for veterans, both within the company and externally, in cooperation with communities. We support our demobilised employees and participate in initiatives that help them adapt. I would like to thank the city council, partners and benefactors for their joint efforts. Such projects are an example of effective cooperation between business, government and society for important changes," commented Oleksandr Fomenko, CEO of DTEK Energy.

A memorandum of cooperation between DTEK Energy and the city council was signed on the 29th November 2023. Based on this, the company's TPP health care centre was handed over to the community for free use. After the facility is handed over to the community in September this year, it is planned to begin a major reconstruction of the facility, with funding provided under the agreement between Ukraine and France.

Recently, DTEK Energy became the first company in Ukraine to adapt and equip the surface area of one of its mines in Dnipro region for the employment of veterans with disabilities. The implementation of this pilot project is part of a programme to support veterans of the russian-Ukrainian war at the company's enterprises, with more than 4,600 employees joining the defence of Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces. Based on the pilot project, audits of physical space have been conducted at 9 of the 24 company enterprises planned for this year. Detailed recommendations on appropriate adaptations and arrangements have been issued.

The company is also actively working to complete the creation of a universal tool — a catalogue of jobs for the employment of veterans with disabilities, which will be used at the company's enterprises.
